TRUMAN LAKE AREA ATTRACTIONS
Truman Lake and the Warsaw area is
the destination for vacationers, hunters and fishermen. Truman
Lake is the Spoonbill Capital of the world and the choice lake
for bass, crappie and catfish fishing. Fishing tournaments are
held on Truman from early spring to fall.
The area also boasts of some of the
best hunting for both turkey and deer. Each spring celebrities
from all over are brought in and given a local guide to help
them bag their turkey.
The area has plenty to offer for
the family too. If skiing or boating is not your cup of tea,
you can shop the many gift and antique shops, visit the fish
hatchery, tour the Truman Dam or the Benton County Museum. And
there is dining for every palet.
There are activities planned for
the whole year with 2 main festivals, Jubilee Days in June and
Heritage Days in October-both drawing thousands of people to
the area. For more info about the area visit the Warsaw
Chamber of Commerce.
